This is a student manual for use in conjunction with Dr. Sadiq’s ten-hour lecture series called Speaking to Muslims about Jesus (SJM). The course’s purpose is for training followers of Christ to be effective witnesses to the many Muslims --either immigrants or converts-- who live and work around us Christians, but who have little exposure to the Gospel. This book was an extremely helpful in helping me to gain a very clear understanding of the Islamic faith and how to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to Muslims. It put a strong emphasis on prayer and spiritual preparation along with equipping Christians to share their faith based on the teachings of the Quran. It also taught how to develop a deep and lasting friendship with Muslims. The book covered everything from the history of the Islamic faith, basic beliefs, and how to share your personal Christian faith with Muslims. I attended one of Dr Jamil's 9 week classes utilizing this text book and was amazed how well it helped me with the course. I especially enjoyed how each chapter had review questions after each section and then listed answers to the questions at the end of each chapter. This especially helped reinforce learning key major points from each chapter for easy learning. Dr Jamil has a wealth of knowledge about Islam and had very effective outreach strategies for reaching those of the Muslim faith. I highly recommend this book for any Christian who has a burden to share the love of Jesus and the Gospel to the Muslim people.

This is not merely a book about Islam for the casual learner. Starting with a strong emphasis on prayer and spiritual preparation, this course equips Christians to share their faith with Muslims by first understanding their belief system, based on the teachings of the Quran and hadiths. It was an eye-opening experience for me to learn how specific verses from the Quran could be used by Christians to build a bridge and start conversations that gently invite followers of Islam to re-examine Jesus and the claims of the gospel more closely.
