About
Most people have heard of Jonah but many have never considered how this 3,000 year-old story still impacts the world's two largest religions - Christianity and Islam. Why did God command Jonah to go to Nineveh? Why did He call Nineveh "the great city?" Why did God choose Jonah to speak as a prophet both to Isrealites as well as Gentiles? Why did Jonah reject his God-given mandate? In this four-week study you will learn what message it contains for the people of Crescent, providing analogies, parallels within perspective of Islamic beliefs.
In this book, Dr. Sadiq brilliantly ties together two messages. First is the core message of the biblical account in Jonah of how followers of Jesus should be reaching out to people they may want to avoid. He also shows the Noble Quran’s account of the same story. And this study shows how to use the Bible’s version alongside the Quran’s to generate conversation with Muslims. In effect, he is showing that the very text that calls us to reach out to Muslims is itself a springboard to generate conversations with them.I used this as a four-week study for my Men’s group and we found it informative, challenging and very practical.

We went through this book as a small group at church and have the privilege of having the author in our group. The book opens our eyes to God’s love for ALL people and salvation is for ALL who believe in Jesus as King and Lord. Dr. Sadiq’s passion for his people to come to faith in the One true God is inspiring and challenges all of us who call ourselves Christians to engage in conversations with those who are different than us in any way and trust God with the outcome. He is faithful. Only Jesus saves!

We used this resource for a small group Bible Study. The book provides helpful background information to understand its original context. Furthermore, the formatting makes it ideal for a group to study together. It's most unique feature is the way it connects this theme and mission to modern ones dealing with different religions, specifically Islam. Great book and resource!
